THE FLIGHT OF A BUTTERFLY

Francesca Santangelo. 26 years old. Photographer.
Little but essential information.
You know butterflies, right? The beautiful result of a deep metamorphosis.
“When the caterpillar finds the right environment, it turns into a chrysalis, and this is the phase in which the greatest transformations take place.”
The world of photography is my “right environment”. That is where my transformation began. The shy, insecure girl has, over time, given way to an ambitious young woman with many dreams and projects to make real. That is the key word: MAKE REAL. Dreaming is lovely, but it's only part of the story. In my opinion, the easiest part.
It's when you get doors slammed in your face that you have to be strong. When you're told you're not ready, not up to it. When the people close to you don't understand you. When others don't believe in your dreams and try to take them apart, to bring you back to reality. When you realise that where you live, your dream is almost impossible. So what do you do?
Well, I don't know about you. But I don't give up. I have no intention of surrendering. I believe in what I do and I know I will make it. I want neither remorse nor regret. I don't want to find myself at 40 wondering “what if I had only tried…”
So who am I?
A butterfly out of its chrysalis, ready to venture into the world, for as long as it is granted.
